Appassionata' is the title of a comprehensive book, picture and music project, which deals with the secret love between the 30-year-old Ludwig van Beethoven and the 10 years younger Hungarian Countess Josephine Brunswick - a forbidden love, which should last 22 years and was of such a powerful force, that it still resounds today.
The pianist, harpsichordist and music researcher Helga Váradi has researched and retold this story.
In addition to fragments from the book, which will be published next year, Helga Váradi will play the Piano Sonata No. 23, Opus 57 'Appassionata' as well as other pieces of music connected with this tragic love story of Beethoven.
